Route Maps

The Sandy Balls Cycle Centre is based on the edge of the New Forest so naturally we are surrounded by some amazing countryside. We have produced numerous routes which all start and finish from Sandy Balls itself. They head out into the local area including the New Forest, the Avon Valley and Cranborne Chase area of natural beauty. The routes range from 8 miles right through to about 35 miles, so whether you want a gentle potter for a couple of hours, or something a little further, we have something for everyone.

Our most popular routes are available to download here...

Abbotswell Family Ride- an 8 mile circular ride on quiet country lanes in the New Forest. En route you will find pubs and tea rooms.    Hampton Ridge- a 10 mile out and back route across a gravel track with a small pub at the end. Here you will find cask ales and ploughmans.   Castle Hill- a 10 mile route in a different part of the area. Slightly hillier but worth it for the views out across the avon valley.

Linford Bottom- a 16 mile route that takes you a bit further into the Forest. With a section through a wooded enclosure you get off road for a bit too and you'll encounter some lovely country pubs.

New Forest Tracks- a 20 mile circular route combining both quiet lanes with gravel tracks you get a real feel for Forest life. Fantastic if you have a whole day. You'll need it... there are four pubs en route!

Lover Loop- for REAL mountain bikers only. 16 miles through some serious off road sections makes this fantastic fun...even if rather muddy!
